To be a successful options trader (or just about anything, for that matter), you have to learn. And one of the least painful ways to do this is to attend a course specifically designed to teach you how to trade options. As opposed to spending months laboring over books of rather dry material, attending a structured course will certainly reduce the time you spend educating yourself, although it wont necessarily alleviate the arid nature of the subject. The downside, of course, is the difficulty in selecting a course. Every course is designed differently, often biased toward a type of trading strategy that has been successful for the instructor(s). And frankly, theres no way to state with any objectivity that one persons system is better than anothers.
