First, it was the online discount brokerages followed by real-time datafeeds, electronic communication networks (ECNs), direct access brokerages, after-hours trading. It didn't take long to figure out that trading was the rage. After all, who wouldn't want to follow in the footsteps of their neighbors who quit their day jobs and made a better living by trading their own account?

More and more people are anxious to learn the art of trading,and as a result, various institutions have popped up all over that teach individuals this novel craft. Curious to find out what gets taught at these institutions, I attended the Guerrilla Trading course at Bandit University. Ken Goldberg, former Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) market maker and investment banker, launched this venture with the objective of teaching nonprofessional investors the art of successful trading.
