Relevance III Advanced Market Analysis Version 2.4 by Barbara Star, Ph.D.
According to promotional literature, this version of Relevance III is eight times more powerful than earlier versions. And powerful it is, with such features as multiple-page creation, automerge of long- and short-term trend and indicator lines, automatic indicator updating of previous charts, Japanese candlesticks, a simulated trading mode and unattended chart printing (both 8-1/2 by 11-inch and 11 by 14-inch pages if your printer can accommodate it). The program boasts 32 technical indicators and a dozen other trading lines for the bar chart, called "studies," some of which cannot be found on other technical analysis programs. That's the good news.
The bad news is, with the exception of the main menu, everything is keyboarddriven with one, or sometimes many, keystrokes. This means learning several Alt, Ctrl and special-function keys about on par with learning WordPerfect 5.1. There is no mouse support, not even pulldown menus from which to make selections. On the other hand, once portfolio and indicator files are created, the program moves quickly through its paces just by touching the space bar or arrow keys. I was told by someone who owns and uses Relevance III that some of the features he would like are not available on other software, so he was willing to put up with the time-consuming learning and typing required to run the program.
