MarketSmith is the next generation of the Daily Graphs investment research service, which was begun in 1972 by Investors Business Daily founder William J. ONeil. MarketSmith is a stock and mutual fund research tool that utilizes the wealth of market data available in the ONeil Database, which is commonly used by institutional investors.
The MarketSmith tool runs in a web browser environment so it can be accessed anywhere that an Internet connection is available. With MarketSmith, we can generate, organize, and evaluate investment ideas, and then share them with others in the MarketSmith community.
The MarketSmith tool (Figure 1) is well organized with several slide-out panels. The three main modules are the Screener, the List Manager, and the chart.
